The event will be held at Barnett Family Park, 121 S. Lake Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Osmon said, "This is our one big event we put on in the community to promote literacy ... it takes about a year to plan this".

Lakeland's Katherine Boll and Lucia Gonzalez of Miami will provide book readings and free books.

Singer/songwriter Jack Hartmann also will return to the event confirmed to performances at 10 a.m. and noon.

Junior League President Kimberly Elmhorst said the festival last year and enjoyed strong attendance Saturday should attract a large crowd.

Elmhorst said, "Last year we planned on 800 children and we had more than 1,200".
