Richfield Avenue in 1992 the band headlining the event in the history of performance has declined, widely considered to be one of the greatest UK festival shows of all time.

Dave Grohl has said since that at the time he believed the show would be the end of their career, saying: "We rehearsed [for Reading] once, the night before, and it wasn't good. I really thought, 'This will be a disaster, this will be the end of our career for sure.' And then it turned out to be a wonderful show, and it healed us for a little while."

Reading Festival should be braced for some heavy showers

Reading Festival heading to this weekend should be braced for some heavy showers, the Met Office has said.

The goers festival present alongside Leeds Festival
which held from August 26-28, will feature headline performances from Pulp, The Strokes, My Chemical Romance and Muse.

A spokesperson for The Met Office told Gigwise that
for campers arriving there on rainy days (25 August) has a chance.

And Friday – the first day of the event – could see some heavy thundery showers, although these will clear by the evening.

She added: “Saturday again is a mixed day wit the chance of some rain. The best of the weather for the festival will be Sunday with lots of sunshine.”

Interpol, Elbow, The National, Pete Doherty, 30 Seconds To Mars and Bring Me The Horizon are also include on the bill.

Reading & Leeds Festival organisers Festival Republic have announced t confirmed their plans screen the performance at this year's events to NME.com.

Leeds on the opening night is set to Nirvana, and'Alternative Stage' to stop reading the night.

The original plan to set the screen in 3D, but the organizers have pointed to the seat, 20th birthday (next year) can save for.

Festival Republic Arts Booker, Tania Harrison explained, "It was such a legendary performance that so many people haven't seen - so we had to do it. It was one of those seminal moments that changed everything - which is what Reading's all about".

Reading and Leeds festivals completely headline

Reading and Leeds festival present this year on the Alternative Stage.

Dry The River
and Pete And The Pirates have added the line-up at Reading and Leeds Festival 2011.

At the Alternative Stage some comedy acts perform, with Rob Rouse, Roisin Conaty and Tom Wrigglesworth among the new additions.

Other bands also include on the bill are Muse, My Chemical Romance and a co-effort from Pulp and The Strokes.
